Therapy & Rehabilitation at Green House Cottages of Northwest Arkansas

Therapy & Rehabilitation

Following surgery, the most successful recoveries happen during a short stay in a comfortable setting, with onsite therapy and rehab professionals. It’s the best possible scenario because it eliminates scheduling and transportation challenges so elders can focus on healing in a peaceful, relaxed environment.

“It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop.” - Confucius

Short Stay, the Healthy Way

With only 12 elders inhabiting each cottage, and top-notch infection control practices, the likelihood for infection transmission at Green House Cottages of Northwest Arkansas is substantially lower than at traditional facilities. This is a huge plus when recovering from surgery because when you sign up for a short stay, the last thing you want is an infection to impede progress and lengthen healing time.

How Long is Short?

A short stay can last a week, eight weeks, or somewhere in between. It varies depending on the person, the complexity of their medical condition, treatment plan, and ability to heal. A team of medical professionals – doctor, nurse practitioner, director of nursing, MDS coordinator, social services representative, and rehab therapists – meet regularly to strategize how to help the elder recover, be discharged, and return home.

Homecoming…What’s Next?

When it’s time for an elder to return home, our knowledgeable staff can help with all aspects of the transition, including an evaluation of current living conditions and recommendations for modifications and setting up equipment to support safe and comfortable independent living.
